Bring Ultimate To Your School
Ultimate is one of the fastest growing school sports in New South Wales, and it is easy to see why.
Because it is easy to play, non-contact, mixed gender, athletic, inclusive and completely self-refereed.
It teaches students invaluable lessons in teamwork, fair play, and respectful communication through the Spirit of the Game.
It is also incredibly budget friendly and easy to set up on any school oval or indoor court.
Whether you are a primary school teacher looking for a fun new way you get your students active, a high school sports coordinator planning for competitive inter-school gala days, or a student eager to start a lunchtime game, we are here to help you get Ultimate underway in your school.
Find the perfect way to get your students active in a way that fits for your school and students.

What is Sporting Schools?
Sporting Schools is an Australian Government initiative designed to help schools increase children’s participation in sport and connect them with community sporting opportunities. Through federal funding grants available each term, schools can bring high-quality, fully resourced sporting programs directly to their campus at no cost to the school budget.
NSW Ultimate is proud to offer dynamic, inclusive, and curriculum-aligned flying disc programs through this initiative. Embracing a unique self-refereed and game-based approach, our programs don’t just build physical literacy—they foster essential life skills like communication, conflict resolution, and mutual respect.
We offer two tailored programs specifically engineered for different age brackets:
The Ulti-Mates program offers a fun, safe, and dynamic introduction to Ultimate.
Utilizing lightweight, soft memory-plastic discs designed safely for younger hands, Ulti-Mates focuses on developing fundamental movement skills like throwing and catching through highly engaging modified games.
- The Focus: Introduces basic teamwork, motor skills, and fair play.
- Social Learning: Students get a gentle, age-appropriate introduction to Ultimate’s unique Spirit of the Game concept, building core social-emotional skills early on.
- Curriculum Fit: Lessons are fully mapped to the Australian Curriculum and Physical Literacy Framework.

Geared towards Years 7 and 8
The Fly program uses an action-packed, game-based approach to capture the interest of secondary students right from the very first whistle.
Using world-championship approved discs, Fly challenges students to master advanced throws, vertical layout tactics, and field positioning.
- The Focus: Fast-paced, athletic play that keeps teenagers active and engaged.
- Leadership & Ethics: Since the game is player-officiated, students actively hone their leadership, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills directly on the field.
- A Level Playing Field: Because throwing a flying disc uses entirely different motor patterns than traditional ball sports, Fly completely levels the playing field in PE classes, giving every student an equal opportunity to excel and shine.
